ABC Testing Sites​

Some testing sites will begin opening as soon as the state allows, which could be as soon as May 16th. Please check the following list (LI​NK HERE​) for locations and projected opening dates (Once you select USA, they are in order by City-not State). Please be advised these dates could change! 

Once the sites open they will be implementing some safety precautions. See the attached document from PSI for complete list of what will be expected at testing sites. 


Renewals

With training classes being postponed or cancelled we understand the concern to still achieve your renewal training credits. NYWEA has a link on our website for distance learning options that you can complete without attending any in-person training. The link for both pre-approved courses and distance learning appears below. Be sure to check out these options. Distance learning is a viable option during this period of social distancing.

Operator Scholarships

PRE-CERTIFICATION OPERATOR SCHOLARSHIP

  • NYWEA is offering scholarships to individuals living in New York State to pay for pre-certification training towards wastewater operator certification! 
  • You can apply for this scholarship for ANY classes taken within a year,  you do not have to be currently enrolled.  
  • Pre-Certification training includes Basic Operations, Basic Laboratory, Activated Sludge, the Supervisory and Technical Module, and Grade 4 Management.​
  • Ten scholarships of up to $1,000 each will be awarded throughout the year; five in the Spring and five in the Fall. 
  • Deadlines: Spring March 1, 2020, ​Fall - November 1, 2020
  • Pre-Certification Operator Scholarship Application​ 

    LUCY GRASSANO MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - 92nd Annual Meeting, NYC

    • This scholarship is named after Lucy Grassano, who was a Principal Administrative Assistant at NYCDEP. She was a mentor, friend, teacher, and “mother” to many operations staff throughout the years. 
    • This scholarships offers $900 Travel Stipend AND Full Week Registration Waived for Conference to allow the opportunity for certified operators to attend the 92nd Annual Meeting in New York City.
