Duties

The Professional Engineer 1 (Environmental) will supervise two Assistant Engineers (Environmental) and an Engineer Trainee (Environmental) in the R2 Water Stormwater Section.

Duties of this section include conducting compliance inspections at construction sites covered under the department’s SPDES Construction General Permit (CGP) and SPDES Multi Sector General SPDES permit (MSGP) programs for compliance with the permits.

Conducting reviews and authorizing approval of CGP and MSGP Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP).

Responsible for preparing inspections reports and, when necessary, issue Notices of Violation to sites that are in noncompliance with the applicable stormwater regulations and SWPPP requirements.

Review applications for 5-acre waivers and draft approval or denial letters as appropriate.

Assisting with compliance oversight of the New York City SPDES MS4 Permit.
