The Utility Operations & Maintenance Committee’s Mission:
Promote the professional status of operating personnel, to maximize the efficiency and ensure the integrity of water resource recovery facilities, to provide the expansion of knowledge regarding mechanical, operational, and managerial skills, and to facilitate the dissemination of information. The committee organizes the Operation’s Challenge competition and provide support, including logistic support, for the winners and runner-ups to compete at the Federation’s national conference. The committee reviews criteria and nominations for the Hatfield, Morgan, Mann and Hill awards, and recommend recipients to the Awards Committee for approval by the Board. The committee provides input for the issues related to operator programs, training and professional development. Every three years nominates one individual from the committee to serve as a member of the Wastewater Operator Certification Governance Council.
